Squirrel Pit

This one requires a bit of an explanation.  Where I work, the map library is in a building that has a tree pit in the middle of it.  It’s not really a courtyard because you can’t go out there, just gaze at the stately maple through the window.  Squirrels like to jump into the pit from above, though, to get maple helicopters and such.  The walls are so sheer and relatively smooth that the squirrels can’t come out, and they come and gaze hungrily at the map collection cubicle dwellers.  Eventually the landscapers lower a squirrel ladder into the tree.  Sometimes more squirrels climb in by the ladder, but eventually they leave, the ladder is removed, and it’s a temporary squirrel-free zone again.

A “Green” Kindle Case

I made a cover for my new Kindle out of materials at hand.  Cardboard, packing tape, and lined with felt.

And another item from the sketchbook:

Gracious Grandma

This made me think of a wallpaper design after I drew it. And old-timey one.

Perhaps the one I’ll pop tomorrow at Thanksgiving dinner.

This Is Your Life

Last in the four-part series of drawings of screens and such.  Actually, this one is kind of supposed to be a mirror.  Hence the title.  But I think it goes in the series anyway.

Amateur Hour

“Amateur Hour,” another drawing in the “screen series.”
